BUSINESS MANAGEMENT, ETHICS & ENTREPRENEURSHIP (BMEC)

For a Company Secretary it is very important to understand concept of management ethics and communication. He should also be able to apply these rules in his working. Due to this reason ICSI has designed the exam of Business Ethics and communication so that a CS Foundation student can understand the concept and importance of management ethics and communication.
Every human engaged in any sort of activity is involved in management. Their activities may vary to own self, economic, non economical, social etc. A student has to manage his time for studies and other activities while a person engaged in business has to manage his time and activities for all the business related activities. So management is pervasive and continues process. Scope of management may change but management remains the same.

In modern business environment where there is division of owner ship and management and stiff competition exists, business organizations are expected to follow ethical behavior and this also reflects philosophy of an organization. Business ethics helps in creating an image of a business among its stake holders and consumers. 
Communication is a two way process which involves sending a message, acknowledgement by the recipient, his reply and decoding of it. For a Company Secretary it is important to have effective communication skills as he is channel of communication between workers and management. 
Part Four covers the concept related to entrepreneurship. Entrepreneur is a person who either brings a new product in marked or an old product in new way. 

Exam is divided into Three parts
PART A:       BUSINESS MANAGEMENT (40 Marks)
PART B:       BUSINESS ETHICS (10 Marks)
PART C:       BUSINESS COMMUNICATION (25 Marks)
PART D: ENTREPRENEURSHIP (25 MARKS)
