HCF (Highest Common Factor) is defined as the greatest number that perfectly divides given numbers. HCF may be calculated for two or more numbers. 
LCM (Least Common Multiple) is defined as is the smallest positive number which is multiple of two or more given numbers.
Factor : Factors are those numbers which can be multiplied to get the desired numbers. 

Example: The H.C.F and L.C.M of two numbers are 12 and 336 respectively. If one of the number is 84, the other is
(1) 36 
(2) 48
(3) 72 
(4) 96
Answer: (2) 48

Example: The product of two numbers is 216. If the HCF is 6, then their LCM is
(1) 72 
(2) 60
(3) 48 
(4) 36
Answer: (4) 36
